This colorful country is definitely worth to visit in our lifetime. We went during Fall Season for a short 4 days visit to celebrate my niece’s 5th Birthday in the beginning of November 2012. The weather was a nice change from the tropic. It was cool in the afternoon with clear sky and windy cold in the evening. Some days drizzles of rain would drop, but the trees were flaunting beautiful leaves color. You definitely need to armor yourselves with trench coats, windbreakers, hats, hoodies or ear muffs during this month.
Flying with Korean Air was the best choice for us. The airplane food was a great satisfaction. We immediately chose bibimbap that comes with kimchi. The air crew was very friendly and they took good care of my 5 yrs old niece. She was given a drawing kit and got busy with it. The 5-hours plane ride didn’t feel long at all, it took about 2 movies that we can select from many movie choices, be it the usual 2-hours movies or you can choose short sitcoms. For adults like us, the free flow wines they provided were a real treat.
Arriving in the early morning, we could not check into the hotel right away. So, we left our luggage at the hotel’s concierge, had breakfast in the hotel’s café and check out Lotte Department Store to buy some gloves and hats since it was quite windy with rain drizzling outside. After a short trip to the Department Store, we went straight to Lotte World that is located right next to our Lotte Hotel in Jamsil Dong, which is also a part of the famous Gangnam District.

We decided to spend our last day by just relaxing with no fixed schedule. So we got up late, went next door (again…) to the Lotte World and my niece went to the Magic Island across from the Adventure World. We had Lunch inside the Lotte World, went back to the Hotel, Pack and left for the Airport heading back to our Jakarta City.
Due to our short time visit, we didn’t go to Jeju Island as we originally planned, this trip to Jeju requires another 1-hour of flying by airplane and spend a night there.
We Also missed the Nanta Show, a must see Famous Korean Dance Show, that I heard was quite Amazing.
All in all, we left Korea with smiley, happy faces…. A more than satisfying trip indeed and I can’t wait to go back to discover more Korea.
